Bridging Barriers Training by School of Inclusion

Collage of four images showing various groups of people in a professional setting. The first image features nine women and one man standing in a room with a banner that reads "Inclusion, Understanding, Acceptance, Exclusion." The second image shows two men standing next to the same banner. The third image depicts a large group of people gathered in a conference room around a table. The fourth image shows a lecture hall with people seated in blue chairs, and a man standing at the front facing the audience.

Through School of Inclusion, I delivered a series of training sessions designed to educate university students and faculty about the importance of accessibility, and the inclusion of students with disabilities. These sessions provided interactive learning experiences, real-life case studies, and discussions on the challenges faced by students with disabilities in academic and social settings. Participants gained practical knowledge on fostering inclusive environments, advocating for accessibility, and becoming allies in their institutions. These sessions were successfully conducted in two cities with 10 different educational institutions.

Through this initiative, more than 800 students were empowered to take an active role in promoting inclusivity on campus by understanding the barriers their peers face and learning how to address them effectively. The training sessions emphasized the importance of inclusive leadership, accessible learning spaces, and encouraging students to implement positive changes in their universities and beyond.
